Why is it that Mothers tend to be so very patronising?

My mother just called by having been to the Market in a nearby town where I recently installed a large sign. She deliberately went out of her way to examine the sign in question and reported back to me today how "excellent" it was. My son mockingly said " yeah, it’s just like a real sign made by a professional". His sense of humour was lost on my Mother who insisted that he was right and yes it did indeed look like it was something that could have been professionally made 😕

Just because you installed it doesn’t mean you manufactured it.

So pray tell us who made it for you!

My mom is 84 years old and calls me every time she sees one of my signs go up. She tells all her girlfriends and my aunts during their weekly card game too.
The worst was when I made these ugly park signs all in Arial Bold, as requested by the client. She said they looked so nice and professional.
She also tells me when she sees a sign that looks like sh!t.
She’ll ask "You didn’t make that, did you?"
    Love….Jill

my mum buys novelty type signs all the time. only a couple of days ago i saw two new ones in a bag in the kitchen.

i said, "you do know we make this stuff"
she said, "away you go, i would Wait a lifetime for them and they still wouldn’t be right in the end".

and im talking about the cheapest crappy signs your ever likely to see… 😕

    :lol1:

I know exactly what you are saying Michael, I wouldn’t have it any other way!
My mum still tells me ‘not to get paint on my good trousers!’ 😮 😀

On the day that he died, my dad(also a signwriter) passing one of the first signs I did on my own said to me ‘watch your S’s’ 😀 😀
I will cherish that until my own day of reckoning! 😀

My mums the same Rob, unfortunately she is right tho. She reminded me the other day its coming up to 3 years since she asked me for a reflective sign for the back door to her house.

All the best intentions and all that…. Mike and Harry have both pricked my conscience, so I’ll do it this weekend. 😳
