Does anyone know where I can get "Monkey Strips" squeegee edges from in the UK? Keen to try them out…

    Hi Peter

The company you are after is MEK Wrap Tools.
The owner of the company is Mike Szwacki who is also a UKSB, UK Sign Group and AVWT accredited vinyl and wrap technician..

Mike is the official UK distributor for Monkey Strips and it would be great if our websites general traffic and members showed their support for one of our own and sourced their felt Monkey Strips via Mikes new online store CLICK HERE

Monkey Strips sent me samples direct for testing and I have been, along with my staff for a couple of months now.
I have to say they knock spots off any i have tried to date. More on this will follow soon…

You will see a picture of my own squeegee attached that i was using today. It is a combination of Blue Monkey strips and a 3M gold squeegee via William Smiths. Note I am using one strip on one side and two strips on the opposite. i have reason for this which i will include in my Monkey Strip test write-up.

Monkey strips come in various colours. maybe about 6 colours… i am trying them all, along with their yellow wet ones and some other prototype bits and pieces i will include at a later date. In the mean time…

Try out Monkey Strips for yourself, I would love to hear feedback from you all as a post on the boards or via email at rob@uksignboards.com. I will included any feedback in my blog write-up giving credit/reference to those who submit.

Please also mention uksignboards.com when you purchase your Moneky Strips from Mike Szwacki at http://www.mekwraptools.com

Thanks for the recommendation both. Keen to try them out as I’ve only heard good things about them, so will certainly give you my feedback after I’ve used them!

I’m more than interested in the performance of these strips – felt covered squeegees are more than useless nowadays, work out expensive for a one van use limit. I’ve tried buying felt covers at the sign expo and making my own but not any longer lasting I’m afraid [emoji30]

    also interested in these
we are increasingly under shorter time frames to supply printed jobs
although we have uv solvent machines anything that helps when fitting print which hasnt been laminated is a bonus

What’s with the holes in the squeegee?

think its to let the water through when fitting wet

I’m another massive fan of monkey stripes, tried them out from a friend after complaining that the avery squeegees just didn’t last as long as they used to and haven’t looked back!

I used to use the Hexis Red felt. i feel these are a mile better, cut at the right size, stick better, remove without residue, and have not given any scratch marks even on high gloss monomeric laminate. Might be a little more expensive but would not think about going back.
