    Hi All,

I have a minor problem closing versaworks. If for any reason I have to close the software and reopen it, it doesn’t let me and a message appears stating that versaworks is already running. I then have to ctrl+alt+delete and remove the versaworks file after finding it in the processes section in the tasks. Is there a fix for this and do you guys have the same issue??

    thanx in advance

I have had it in the past, but usually I wait for a few mins and then re start versaworks and everything is fine….

Does it re start if you leave it or do you have to use task manager every time for it?

I fixed this for someone else and it was a RAM issue it was just taking a long time to shut itself down. Also one other thing with versaworks, if your anything like me you have probably got loads of old jobs in you ques, I hate deleting them as sure as chips is chips someone is going to call on the day that I do and want that bloody nest job for labels re doing that I have just bunged away.

Versaworks doesn’t hold your files in the program for the jobs, so it has to find all the files when it opens and closes that it has in the que on your pc. Cutting your job lists down may help speed up the program..

    It’s worth a try

BUT I did also find this on Rolands web site….. this could help

"Q27. VersaWorks does not launch after it crashes. Task Manager will show VersaWorks listed as a process but the main
    window is not displayed.

    A. Launch Task Manager and close VersaWorks from the Process window and try launching it again. In rare cases, the
registry entries that store the Window position get corrupted (it is set to “0”) and VersaWorks does not know how to
display the Window. Contact our tech support for a registry patch.

I have had that happen before, generally after I close VersaWorks and realise I still needed it open. I try and reopen it says that VersaWorks is already open.

I have checked in task manager and it is there running. After about 15 – 20 seconds (max) it disappears.

Waiting 30 seconds should do it unless there is a problem in the registry settings for VersaWorks. That being the case you may want to remove VersaWorks (delete the associated files) and then do a complete clean install and update. This is the last resort though.
