    Hi
    Please could anyone help.
Machine printing fine until this morning. When it starts to lay down dark colour areas it is leaving little spots where the ink is missing?. or reacting
the dots are random and very small.
    Any thoughts.

If it’s heavy coverage, I would say that the ink is pooling around dust spots – known as
fisheyes. Best way to cure it is to reduce the ink limits or turn the heater up. You might
try a different profile with a lower ink load.

Also worth thinking about the media, environment and contamination…

Are you printing on banner or vinyl? I have seen this issue on media that has a fault with the coating, tried a different batch and all was OK.

Do you work in a ‘DUSTY’ environment? This can get on the media and cause an issue.

Have you changed ink supplier recently? Do you run a bulk system, if so has dust or muck got in the open bulk cartridge.

Just some more ideas to think about, I hope this helps.

Morning Matthew. Firstly, I would investigate what has changed, if anything, since you last printed successfully. I’m sure you can appreciate that without seeing the fault it is very difficult to make a decision but from what you have explained, I would say that dust on the media would be causing the problem. Is there any way you can post up a sample of what it’s doing?
