I have wasatch 6.5 it now has a print cost calculator, but I need to input the ink dot size (small normal and large) for my mimaki jv3 sp11
does anyone have or know where I could find out the info?

    Hi Peter,

Yes the cost calculater is not quite as stright forward as Wasatch have you belive.

What i have found is that if you open wasatch and load a file if you then try to use cost calculater it asks for drop size, if you print a file it then inserts the drops size/sizes for you but if you change the profile it will clear the dropsize.

Maybe i missed something but could not see how to cost a print untill printed.

    Regards

    Russell.

    Hi Russell
double clicking on the dot size allows you to insert and then calculate,
but how do I find out the drop size?

the mimaki JV range are variable drop size, it be around 5-10 or 15pl. Unlike the industrial printers which can be 30, 50 or 80pl

one of the printers i have visited, they put a bowl under the heads, squirt 10,000 droplets through, then weight the bowl and this gives them the weight, this helps them work out the cost as all you do is count the droplets after that.

    Hi Peter,

Yes I know that clicking it allows you to input the size but like yourself i do not know the size, if i print something then go back to cost estimater it has filled in the information, this varies from profile to profile as some profiles may be fixed drop size and others use varible.

    Regards

    Russell.
