Loads of places will sell genuine SS21. Xpres, GPT, YPS, Granthams… As Bernard says, 3rd party inks will save you heaps of money and will most likely give a better after sale service. Just do your research into whatever company you decide to give your business.

    Hi Everybody,

I’m thinking of using third party SS21 ink for my Mimaki for the first time, Has anybody used ink from a company called "Digital ink direct" ? any issues?

Any third party brand that stands out better then another?

i wound be interest to know what ink Bernard is using as he’s had no problems for many years.

    Thanks

    Richard

Sorry to hijack this thread , but I too am interested in Digital Ink GB cartridges . They claim to be a straight swap for OEM at half the price and also warranty all the wet parts of the printer . Sounds almost too good to be true. Has anyone actually used these inks and or the warranty ?

    Afternoon all
I am currently using carts from Digital Ink, so far no issues at all. Half the price and not even any need to flush and recharge [emoji106]

I came across digink today, been looking for a cheaper supplier of oem ums ink for my mutoh having just been stung 130€ plus vat per 440 cart by my supplier (which seems to be the only one in this country).

Iain do you have anymore feedback as your post was from last year.

Ive always said i would never touch non oem but these prices are just getting silly now.

    Thanks

    Hi Martyn

Contact the guys at SEDO in UK, they supply mutoh and inks for them. They must be able to ship to europe cheaper than what you are paying. I paid about £85-90 for 440ml and I remember UMS was cheaper but I didn’t have a high enough volume for it as it’s more aggressive. Seems like you could save a bit here, worth a go anyway.

Best thing we ever did was converting to bulk. Just keep filling the top tanks by the litre…happy days. About £90 a litre for full solvent (Nazdar Lyson 1300). Had one iffy bottle in 10+ years. Swapped out FOC, flushed the heads and changed the dampers.
The cost advantage more than makes up for any inconvenience of added home maintenance…HUNDREDS of pounds per month saved.

I switched to Nazdar ink bulk system about 6 years ago. A fraction of the cost of Roland, better colour output in my opinion, much closer to what I have on screen & zero issues with the machines. Would recommend switching over

Thanks, sounds like Nazdar are a safe bet and there is a supplier in finland so even better. Are these a straight replacement? can be used with oem or do you need to flush ou and start again?

    Thanks

I think it was a straight swap from original Roland carts to the refillable ones Martyn. Memories a bit faded sorry, I originally agreed to swap one printer at first as I was a bit nervous about the changeover. I flushed the first machine & did a complete new install. After a few weeks with no issues, I changed them all without flushing, just a few powerful cleans. I would recommend it mate.
