That’s interesting Andre. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

i think its interesting as they have been saying for years that print and cut in one machine is for toys and not for professional use .
did roland have some sort of copyright on print and cut for a while.
whole new range of printers etc coming out at the moment

Chris, as a newbie with a roland I´d like to know the difference between a didicated cut or printing machine with the the same res/ tolerances as a print/cut machine?
Thanks for any info.Steve[/quote]

print and cut is ok for some jobs,
but a note of caution for anyone who may be starting out.a print and cut is not a replacement for a printer + plotter, If your type of work needs print and cut to inrease productivity, that’s fine.
But most sign shops will still need a separate cutter,

you do not want to be using a print and cut type of machine for just normal every day cutting.
the material you put in the printer should be kept in a really clean environment,a quality cutter only is generally faster cutting same resolution.

Just been reading an article on this machine, seems they have licensed the print to cut technology from Gerber who are making the technology available to any company who has the money for the license. They have also said that another major Japanese printer company has been granted the license.
Gerber are also suing Roland for infringement of patent.Steve
Could be a lot of new print cut machines coming to the market?
