mesh printing banners advice please
Posted by Nick Williamson on August 20, 2012 at 10:52 amHi All would like to print some mesh banners but the metamark site says our Rolannd VP300 will not do this 300g mesh with liner
anyone any idea why (too thick material?) or if they have tried and it worked where did they get the material from
as usual thanks for your replies

We have printed Mesh on our SP540 but there must be a reason Metamark are saying this.

as gary says, must be a reason. i dont have a VP but have the soljet and im sure we have used Metamarks mesh and similar from Robert Horne without any problems at all.
even if its media thickness that’s an issue, can you not just raise the head height? -
thanks for those guess i`ll just have to buy some and try.
No you cannot adjust the head hieght on a Roland VP300 only the next width machine up great egh cheers

maybe not worth teh gamble mate. if they are stating this and as you say, you cant increase the head height then you could suffer a head crash and be on your own as they state not to try it. even if the head crash doesn’t end up with permanent damage your then left with a roll of mesh.
could you not source a thinner media? i would think there has to be a mesh media to suit such a popular machine.

Yep try and source a thinner material prob best just being lazy as we use Metamark stuff alot…. Head damage try to avoid that at all cost bit like wandering aimlessly around M&S with her who must be obeyed,
thanks again will start ringing round for diff material

From memory I think Allprint do a thinner mesh banner.

cheers all have spoken to Metamark very helpfull says reason the vp300 isnot reccommended with Mesh is because it has no middle roller to support the vinyl so can damage heads.
