Posted by Iain Gordon on May 13, 2005 at 3:20 pm

I have pressed a button(s) on the site before and been taken to a list of members that shows websites etc.

    Now i cant find it.

    Can anyone help??

I would like to look at these in order for me to get some idea of what to do as i am thinking about designing one for myself.

    Thanks in advance

I have seen what you mean it disappeared a few week ago it listed all of us by type IE demonstration etc and listed all the details of members, location, web site details and allowed you to pm them from this area.
I accessed it from the top of the front page near to FAQ and board rules but I cant remember what it was called.

    Regards

AHHHH YEH… sorry mate i was thinking on a forum or something like that. yeh the user-group link has gone along with a few others over the last 2 years. various reasons for this but in short, it was being abused by suppliers spamming the boards and other sign sites desperately trying to recruit members in anyway they could.
the success of the site, the good people that make it is what it is, is always going to be its downfall as more and more people try underhanded tactics to get a part of it for nothing… in turn, you, i, and the others suffer by tighter security measures.

sorry for the inconvenience caused by this… 😕

I knew what you were talking about Iain, but couldn’t remember the name of it like you.
Rob, thanks for being on top of things like that (spamming, etc). It’s good to know you and your team are looking out for us. Keep up the good work.
