Media Take Up Roller
Posted by Jason Xuereb on June 18, 2007 at 12:12 pmDo any of you guys use one and how do you find it? We’ve started doing a bit of printing and I think it would be handy especially for like 10m banner runs.

hmm, dunno it came with all of our machines. we use them all the time except for extremely short runs and we only do short runs on one machine anyhow soooo. it helps a lot when you constantly need to do several rolls of printing if you are doing fleet work and definately large banner runs.

Thanks George. I figured they seem rather simple. We never purchased it originally with our printer trying to reduce our startup costs. But now we are in a position to add it on.

There really is nothing to it, for our machines you just go into the setup preferences for the printer and turn the media take up on then there are a few settings to set the speed of it and how tight it will wind up the material which is a must for large banner runs.

I had one on my HP, but opted not to pay the $4000 for the one on my Roland…. Big mistake 🙁 I wish I had one now….. 😕

Yeh we opted not to get it at the time. But I wish I had one now. We might leave it and add a new printer instead and use the current printer for smaller print and cut jobs and leave the long printing to the new one.
