    Hi Warren

They are all acrylic, either built up or flat cut.

Some absolutely cracking stuff there as usual David, can’t make my mind up which is my favourite to be honest :lol1: The garage door wrap is old had though, you need to come up with a better idea for the next one you do, maybe an indoor swimming pool :lol1: :lol1:

What’s the story with the shed?? Is it a real shed thats been wallpapered on the outside to make it look like it’s sinking into the ground ??

    Hi Martin

    Thanks for the comments.

The shed is just a timber batten frame covered in 10mm PVC with digital print of an old shed image. The roof is covered in a ‘living mat’ of little ferns and shrubs (that what the clients sells).

The garage door wrap in itself is just basic print and application. The hard thing was creating the image in Photoshop more than anything. The customer had two very small, faded, ripped and tatty old photos of the cars that he’d owned 20 years ago. Andy our designer had to work really hard to almost re-create the car images from scratch.

All superb. Very inspirational. I am particularly drawn to the Coffee shop and the curtains on the Dry Cleaners van. You must have a good Photoshop artist.

    Hi John

    Thanks for the comments.

The GFX is all regular polymeric cut vinyl, blue / green / magenta down first and then white and frosted (hard to see on the photos) over the top.

Polymeric, rather than cast, was fine as most of the recesses (apart from top back corner of side recess panel) could be tucked/pushed in without stress / heat – top back corner of side recess is so gentle that we’ve found polymeric will happily stay in with a little heat as long as the vinyl doesn’t carry on too far forward of this point.

Think I would have gone with a cast just to be sure, looks fantastic though.

    Hi Jon

We know the customer really well and gave him the price/choice and pointed out the potential pitfalls of the polymeric – so far so good though after 3 months.

    "Welly"
acrylic letters, are these frosted acrylic Dave or covered in film mate?

i am guessing they are frosted / matt acrylic, but imagine if it was, it would be expensive, even to have a trade fabricator to do it?

sorry, just me being nosey… 😉

Your a credit to the industry Macky,

Truly outstanding work, I think anyone serious about signs aspires to produce work of this quality but few I feel actually achieve it.

Aswell as being informative which is a signs No1 goal it’s all so visually stimulating which sets it apart from the norm.

I love the Gold / matt van one of the best I ‘ve seen.

    Amazing work there David!

can I ask, on the "east east" job, the logo in the middle is red in the daytime shot, but white in the night time. how did you achieve that!? (?)

    Hi Andrew

The East Z East night time shot is just massively over exposed – just my iPhone. The ‘Z’ logo does actually look bright red to the naked eye at night! No clever sign tricks I’m afraid.

In the past we have fitted a few opal faced lightboxes with coloured fluorescent tubes so in the day they look white and at the night they illuminate red though.

    Hi Rob

The built ups are regular acrylic with a matt clear laminate to soften them – a bit fiddly but the customer wanted a specific effect. From a trade fabricator and no not cheap BUT I think good value because I know how labour intesive they are to make and they do look really good.

    Cheers
