not sure if its been discussed bere before, but i was wondering how people are managing there fonts etc. Ive just added another computer to our setup so that the plotters can be networked and moved out of the workshop.. now i find myself having to replicate fonts between the two machines, surely there is an easier way than pressing the okay buttion 500 times to confirm that the font is already installed.

at this stage im thinking about a kixscript that runs on logoff that copies them all to the other pc, but was interested to hear what other people with several PC’s are doing..

    cheers!

Doesn’t select all, copy, paste to your windows, fonts directory work?

sure that works, but if the font is already installed it brings up a message that the font is already installed and you need to remove the old version first. which you have to click OK on for every font like this.

In that case, doesn’t select all, delete all the fonts in the new folder, then select all, copy and paste to your windows, fonts directory work?

You need to get a copy of a font manager.

Extensis Suitcase or Adobe type manager or adobe font folio

basically you can do couple of things but i would recomend you load the atm software on to both your machines. Then upload all your fonts to your c drive but not your font folder in the system files.

The above software lets you switch on and off the fonts you need to use without you having to restart the computer or having them permanently switched on and using up memory.

You can pick up above Extensis and ATM for £50 approx adobe font folio is the daddy with all the font syou could want but it will cost you £2k.
