Making a sale and never seen since !
Hi All
Just wondering…
I had a fairly brief spell working for Granthams in Preston from ‘95 through ’96 covering the North West/East and Scotland. It was my initial introduction into ‘real’ sales and this has served me well as my career progressed into other industries. Not to mention it was a good laugh and there were some good people working there (and probably still are).
Anyhow, I sold very many copies of FlexiSign, plotters from Graphtec and Mutoh and some of the earlier print & cut kit. A very high percentage went to new starters. These ranged from people who now like myself had other primary employment but were just building things up on the sign side until the time was right to take the plunge, those investing redundancy money in a new start (particularly in the NE), those with exceptional professional business plans with funding to match and finally a much smaller category (fortunately) of clueless individuals who clearly were not going to make it (Although we’d do everything possible to help them get the right package to set them off in the right direction at least).
Due to the time and the 1000’s upon 1000’s of customers I’ve worked with since I’m struggling to remember any of the contacts I had whilst at Granthams.
Are there any of “my” new starters still out there? Does anyone remember me? How are you getting on? How did the Mutoh’s perform? Did anyone ever actually buy a Graphtec GC1300 colour ribbon vinyl printer (might have the model name incorrect it was sort of a competitor to the Edge)?
Finally, sorry for never building up the supplier relationship, calling and sending Xmas cards!!
Cheers
Dave McDonald
