  • Magnetic Composite Board – ACM, supplier needed please?

Posted by David McCarroll on March 27, 2018 at 7:15 pm

    Hi all.

Today I came across a sheet while pricing a job at a customers and the sheet was 100% the same feel, tapping sound and visually as ACM. However, it was magnetic and for the life of me I can’t work out how it’s magnetic.

    Can anyone shed any light?

I seem to recall reading something a while back about sheeted material that was magnetic and the same as ACM style product.

Perspex supply it, but can’t cut it in house when I asked our rep last.

That’s the one guys 🙂 I knew I had read about it but couldn’t think for the life of me and regardless of my google searches I was hopeless.

David, that explains why the customer had a 2440x1220mm sheet but the top end wasn’t pretty bare lol

    Anyone any idea on price?

Does anyone know of an alternative to Multishield? Perspex have told me they’re out of stock and can’t confirm a date for more arriving.

    Thanks 🙂

You can buy a product called "Ferrous Sheet" which is a ferrous film that can be applied to any substrate and will accept magnets. (Not to be confused with magnetic sheet material used for making magnetic signs)

    Available on line – https://www.first4magnets.com/large-met … |ps_2-3146

I’ve a roll of ferous material like in Phils link.

My preference would be to use a ferous composite over the film, as I’ve found the self adhesive ferro sheet not as attractive (ooo errr) as the composite.

    Thank you both 🙂

We’d been using the ferrous film, switched to the Multishield product which the client loved and now I can’t get hold of it!

Europoint sells it and will cut to size also.
Their Glasgow rep was speaking to me about it in November.
