Im trying to use the Magic Eye function on my Roland but when I send the cut lines to to it they are cutting about 10mm to the right. Ive checked that the cropmarks are being detected properly (they are fine) and ive even tried re doing the file and restarting Corel X3 but still getting the same result.

Ive also tried this from 2 computers but im getting the same results. The settings on the cutter are all correct for the size of media im using and this has only started happening today. Im stumped now and this is for a doming job thats meant to be going out tomorrow.

i don’t know you system but this rule normally applies.
when you use the find crop marks it sets a new 0-0 (base point) on the plotter and you are probably sending the cut path off set from the page 0-0. if that makes sense
and has the eye been calibrated to the knife. ?

It gets stranger Chris, ive just sent a basic rectangle and it cut fine. I am only having the problem cutting circles somehow.

The machine was calibrated by an Xpres Technician when it was delivered, its not the end of the world, ill just get onto them tomorrow but as its a doming job it puts me a day behind.

It’s a while since I’ve done this Paul, but if doing it from Corel, are you making sure you set the sheet to ‘bottom left’?
Also, are you using media from xpres with the dots in three corners for the optic eye?
If so, I used to lock these, as they invariably moved while setting up art work, which off sets the cut marks.

Hope this is of some use 🙂

Cheers Barbera but ive done all that too, its weird as it works fine on rectangles and shapes, just cuts wrong on circles!?!?!?

I gave up in the end and will phone the Xpres Tech guys tomorrow.
