mactac to oracal colour match needed please
Posted by Gareth.Lewis on February 11, 2008 at 5:58 pmHi all!
I have been asked by email from an acquaintance in the industry to match ‘Mactac 8300 royal blue’. My stock vinyl is Oracal 651. I do not have a mactac colour chart. I was wondering if any of you wonderful people would have both charts and be able to tell me which Oracal 651 blue (code no.) is the closest to mactac 8300 royal blue.
Thnaks in advance.

Oh for pity’s sake, what a mess. And I’ve upset the moderator.
Sorry, didn’t realise bumping wasn’t allowed. I’ll have to do it covertly from now on… (joke).

Right!
Mactac 8300 range Code no. 8339-13 royal blue. I would dearly love to have the code no. of the Oracal 651 colour blue it is nearest to. Please.
I hope I’ve got it right this time!
Thanks awfully in advance….

Hi Gareth
It ain`t an exact match but 065 is probably the closest. For your info it does say that 8339-13 is RAL5002Cheers

Thankyou!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right it is 049 King Blue in the Oracal 651 series. Well damn close anyway

No problem.
If you call Andersons they will send out a swatch pack for your future reference. The only trouble is that they will then hound the life out of you while ever you have a breath in your body.
Let me know if you want the number and I will dig it out.
Cheers

Thankyou!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! too Chris!
Gary,
Thanks for the info about Andersons. I’ll leave it if you don’t mind, these sales persons can suffer a little teeny bit of selective deafness at times.

I was actually torn between the 049 and the 065 but felt that 065 was closer. Either will probably do you as long as it ain`t being applied against the Mactac.
Cheers

Blimey you two! I’ve just looked at my thumbnail size samples in the oracal chart. There’s not a lot between the two is there? The 065 and 049, I mean.
I’ve decided to go with the 065 as I have loads of that in. Lucky me.
Thanks again, once again the ‘its good to talk’ theory has worked!

i really think it is king blue 49 hate to disappoint you. The king blue has a slight purple tinge to it more like the mactac color. All depends how fussy your customer is. You normally should get away with either-or.
