My mimaki has just gone pop……

Assuming it was a power surge…?

    Lost my PC too.

Can anyone recommend an engineer I can call, have a chat and get to come fix some new parts?

It was only a year old in June…to say I’m gutted is an understatement, not to mention what a predicament this puts me in!

    Any help would greatly appreciated.

If this is only marginally out of warranty I would be pushing to get this looked at under warranty I think the Manufactuer might as a gesture of goodwill take a look at this.

    Try this route first…

Turns out hybrid are only 195 for the engineer, so have them booked in.

As to a power surge, that’s a grey area as nothing else in the shop ie PC,s , plotters etc have been affected.

Maybe a dodgy power board in the printer that drew too much current, blew and somehow caused the PC to blow too…….?

I shall be looking to mimaki for some kind of goodwill though…this is going to be costly.

Really!!?? Now that does surprise me. If it’s still a problem, post up the symptoms on here and I’ll do my best to help.

If you’re lucky it will have only taken out initial fuses, these are quick blow type which are similar to those in a microwave, might be able to source from a kitchen appliances store, your manufacturer ought to be able to give you spec if you’re not confident in locating in machines yourself. Good luck
