    Hi Rich

    Sorry but won’t open in Photoshop CS3 or Illustrator CS3 (both mac) or Freehand on PC

    no luck mate, you might need to get the customer to resend.

    cheers

    they have sent the file twice
    see email sent to me after the owner getting shitty with me on the phone

    Hi Richard, attached is the Summit Group Logo as an Illustrator EPS

    file. We work on macs at our agency and I have opened this file in

    photoshop at our end so as far as I can tell this file should be ok.

    Could you please confirm that you are able to open and use this file by

    return of email.

    Regards

    Mark Alsop

    Rich,
    You need to specify to them what would be an acceptable file, but most designers that I deal with know that there can be problems cross platforms. and are more than happy to export an alternative.
    ask for a pdf as a visual, and you will probably be able to use it.

    As far as I know CS3 is the latest software which am using on the mac, it does not open in either Illustrator or Photoshop so whatever the design agency is doing to save the file it is wrong I suppose.
