• LWFN font type

Posted by John Childs on June 22, 2007 at 1:35 pm

A customer has sent me LWFN files of their corporate font but I can’t import them into my Mac.

The info box says they are Type 1 postscript, but shouldn’t they come in two parts? Screen and Printer fonts?

    Help!

    Hi John,

This is the printer font half. You will also need the screen font – usually
a suitcase. I’ve PM’d you a possible workaround, if they can’t send you
    the suitcase.

    Cheers,
    Jamie.

If you could try the workaround I’d be grateful Jamie.

The problem is the chain of command. From me to leasing company, to their rep, to her customer, to the design agency and then all the way back.

It took me over a week to get the LWFN files so anything we can do to short circuit the system would be a big help.

    Thanks

    Excellent Jamie. Worked a treat.

If you’ve ever tried explaining the difference between screen fonts and printer fonts to the girl in a leasing company sales office, you will know how much grief you’ve saved me.

    Thanks again.
