Low Ink/Ink end warnings absent?
Posted by Barry Williams on May 19, 2009 at 10:06 pmGreetings All,
My Rockhopper 38 has stopped giving either "low ink" or "ink end" messages.
Is there any easy fix for this problem in the control panel menu.?
If it isn’t one problem, it’s another, with this
xxxx machine.!
Any help would be most welcome.
Regards,

is this just one colour or all.

as far as i can remember on the 38 it just relies on the plastic tab that protrudes out of the cart side. These can get stuck or the part it activates can seize or break off. I run my 38 for nearly 3 years only problem in that time was a new capping station.Kev

Hi Chris
this happens with all colours. I will have a close look at the cart holders in the morning.
What a great Forum—greetings night-owls all. Makes me feel "not strange" in trying to solve problems in the early hours!!.
I am feeling guilty about the little rant that I had a couple of weeks back about "grammar and the scarcity of".
I think my comments then should have been directed towards the attitude of the contributor and her Trade-union like demarcation line, not her poor grammar.
Many thanks,

On the same note – when the cartridge runs out does it cause a problem if you don’t have an immediate replacement. i am assuming it doesn’t drain the tubes so the heads wont dry out

Hi Martin,
I replace the empty cart immediately so I do not have any follow-up problems.
I checked the carts and the "parking" bays but there doesn"t appear to be any damage.
I will just have to shake the carts on a regular basis and hope for the best.
Mny thanks,
Barry
