  • Looking for stationary printer and guillotine

Posted by Warren Beard on October 8, 2012 at 7:38 pm

    Hi

Looking to expand in to supplying stationary and wondered which companies I should contact for leasing printers. Will obviously also need a guillotine so any recommendations for one will be appreciated.

I don’t want to outsource the basic stuff like letterheads, bus. Cards and flyers etc and only want to outsource litho stuff.

Any recommendations will be appreciated including opinions on size of printer to consider.

    Thanks

    Warren

    booklet maker

Watch the clik cost you really need to be as close to £0.03 [er SRA3 as you can Konica Minolta are good and you can get a good deal on a secondhand 5500 or 6500

Any recommendation where to look for these type of machines

is the lack of response to this thread because not many people here do this in-house and can’t add any info or they don’t want to share?

Just trying to find out as much as I can so I can make an informed decision?

    cheers

    Hi Chris

I know it usually is but hopefully will get some help as I don’t want to farm it out, I am looking to set it up as a full business not just a side line so want to be able to offer the service and quality and do it in-house.

I’ve been down the "farm it out" route and it’s not worth it unless it’s just a few jobs you’re doing, I want this to be self sustaining as a full business offering and not just another product we offer.

    cheers

    Warren

Hi both the C5500 and 6500 from Konica Minolta will take 350gsm we use this to make business cards, most commercial digital printers in this ilk will print to 350gsm

word of warning when printing letterheads on a digital machine.

If the customer is printing the letter using a laser printer the image can transfer onto their rollers. Litho is the safest option.

    Hi David

Yes I know this thanks, litho work will be subbed out. It’s a bit like our wide format printer, we can do short run stickers and posters etc but long runs need to be done flexo or litho so I think as long as we know the pit falls and limitations etc there is still a market for this.

But thanks for taking the time mate

    Cheers

Hi Warren we have been doing printing of flyers bus cards brochures football programmes, menus etc for the last year. It slowly builds up turning over about £1600 per week in this dept and make about £1100 before labour, defo a marketplace where you offer personal service
