  • Looking for some advice

Posted by Shane Drew on February 1, 2011 at 8:01 pm

I have a client that sells silk flowers online.

The problem I have is that he has just purchased a HSV ute muscle car with all sorts of ‘manly’ accessories, and wants me to sign the rear window for his silk flower business.

His brief is simple. Advertise my flower business in a ‘macho’ way.

Flowers? Macho? Any ideas? All I can think is cactus… but he doesn’t sell cacti in silk….

    Any suggestions would be appreciated….

Shane mate, that is not possible…..
if he is a man, he should have no problem going "girlie"
I wore a pink suit for a couple of months, in my twenties, no one doubted my macho image, in fact it worked rather well, not helpful I know but food for thought?

Why don’t you cut a vectorised 4×4 or "muscle car" speeding along with clouds of smoke coming out the back. Clouds are similar shape to flowers, so you could incorporate the flowers into the scene?

Shane dunno if this will work but it just came to me.

Between a rock and a hard place………you place the graphics on either side to represent that saying and then in the middle drop the flowers in and say something like "flowers soft even the hardest of places"

Yeah I know what does a supplier know……….so please don’t all laugh at me just whisper it to me come the next exhibition.

    I like the Tattoo idea.

otherwise why not ask him if he wants to use his "mug" with a flower in his mouth or something like that?

there’s a bit of a sean connery / rowan atkinson love child thing going on there! top suit too! Lynn reminds me of one of the women from bergerac, long time ago so not sure who i’m thinking of!

Shane, the toughest drag car i owned was pink, tell him to man up and just have some nice lillies or orchids on there!

    Vavoom!
    What pictures.
    You both look great.

Shane I would play up on the Twilight/vampire theme which is popular now.
Have a sexy young guy on the car holding a bouquet of blood red roses.
    Love….Jill

Peter – you look like a used car salesman back then, and Lynn looks like Jerry Hall (between relationships) 😕

Shane – why not put a little message under the sign saying "No Pooftas" :lol1:

Yep I think the tattoo route, but also Jill’s roses…. So possibly twining vines, ivy’s etc that coil around blood red rose buds….. Or take a look at the latest Roland advert (top right of home page) showing swirls in fades of colour and do a twist on that to incorporate plants and Rose buds

I was thinking of this type of imagery (without the blood)
    + roses.
Women buy more flowers than men (I think) so appeal to them.
