  • Looking for Screw and Bolt Hardware Libraries

Posted by Simon Strom on December 14, 2007 at 3:45 pm

Does anyone know of any line art libraries that can be used in Vector programs for mounting hardware (such as standard screws and bolts). I occasionally do get ones out of files that are sent by engineers and architects, but they’re usually really butchered and the lines are broken. I’d like to find some that are clean line art that are made for standard graphics programs (i.e. Illustrator, FreeHand & CorelDraw). Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestion Ian. I like istockphoto a lot. I’m actually looking for something that equals the hardware libraries that are found in CAD but don’t have broken lines though. Unfortunately I need some that are highly accurate size wise, and that have a front view and plan view. I’ll link to a photo on my flickr account that shows what I have to clean up every time I get one of these to draw from and Engineer / Architect. It would just make my life easier if I could find some libraries to plug in to FreeHand MX (or Illustrator) that were drawn with a Graphics program in mind, instead of a CAD based program.

I’m looking for a whole library of accurate hardware, but done in a style similar to this (photo link below). This probably doesn’t exist, but it would be nice if it did.

That’s a cool site. I’m looking more for libraries that would work in a Graphic Design program though. I’ll forward this site to my dad though. He’s an engineer and would like this. Thanks.
