Hi Warren. I use a local metal fabricator to make mine. Half the price and easier to deal with. Have a look around as I am sure you will have one local.

Are they companies you would use yourself Eddie? The last one doesn’t seem to do ally tray’s though. Had a quick look and could only see folded composite trays.

Warren try powder coaters as well as they will have links to to fabricators.

I’m local to Ashby and use them for some stuff and a local powder coater / fabricator for other.

I have been ringing around today for a quote on a 8m tray.

    Ashbys were the cheapest.

    SMP were the dearest.

    Thanks guys.

I’ll tell you why I was going to look around as I always just buy from Ashby. Customer chose a RAL colour which was not "standard" and I wasn’t aware they had standard colours, it’s a brown and there is only 1 brown Ashby have as standard and it’s very very dark for what the customer wanted, it’s quiet a bit more for them to use a non standard colour and before trying to explain to my customer that colour will cost more (after the fact as I never knew it) I wanted to try find a more competitive price to try avoid that or it costing me the profit on the tray 😕

Thanks anyway, still no response from those other 4 companies in 2 days now, they must have too much work 😕

    cheers

You could always buy it in mill finish and then find a local powder coating company.

    Worth a thought maybe.

We by lots of trays from a local fabricator and then flood coat them. That works too.

    Cheers

I’ve had some prices in for my first sign tray.

http://www.ethorn.co.uk seemed the cheapest for me.

Just an update to keep the facts straight 😳 I was looking at the wrong colour list and didn’t notice the paint tab which showed all the RAL colour. There was a close enough colour to chose from in the end so sorted. :lol1:

    cheers
