    Hi James

Thanks for the offer of help, I don’t mind paying for a site visit, not getting very far with our current suppliers.

The printer is an SP540V and was fully serviced in January, which included the cutting strips being replaced.

    Problem 1.
When doing a print and cut job, the printers goes back and cuts in the wrong position, that happens if its a straight print and cut or if we print with the reg marks on, laminate and put back in the printer etc. Its very hit and miss.

    Problem 2.
Discovered the printer is printing short, (i.e. a job we printed should have been 1530mm it measured on the print about 1512mm) This is printing down the roll measurement. The measurement the other way was correct.
We have adjusted the feed correction percentage.

    Thanks
    Mike

    Hi All

I am also in need of a Roland engineer to come to our premises and calibrate our SP540v and a general overview etc etc.

    We are based in Northampton

Stafford are you available? Reading posts, I see you come highly recommended :smiles:

Sorry to hijack the post everyone.

Hi Adam, I certainly am available but I’m not allowed to leave my details or reply to PM’s. I can help you on here though if it helps?

    Hi Stafford.
We recently replaced our black / cyan head and since we have does this, the printer has never been the same.
Now i know many will say you should have called a tech etc etc but to be honest it looked a job we could do in-house.

However now we seem to be getting grainy/noisy prints and a faint magenta line above all colour blocks which I know is a calibration issue. We simply just do not have the knowledge (obviously) to calibrate the print to get perfect results.

We have looked at the vertical and horizontal calibration and have got it close but the magenta line is still visible.

Any ideas of what we need to do to fix it?

Can you post a picture of the problem? I should be able to tell you which calibration to run from that.
