is it a image or vector mate?

vector, the only way i have found is to turn the colour of, ctrl and left click on the colour in the job palette

bit map, click on the bitmap then a colour, then the same as vector 😕

Rich I haven’t come across a way to lock an object, as you want, but you can lock a bitmap or object by turning the colour off (use one that is not in the design to then use ctr and click on the colour to turn it off, or if a bitmap, drag an unused colour on top then tun it off,

    Sorry Nick already explained

OK Thanks guys but this is silly and putting be off a little I know its only a small point but if say you import a vehicle outline and you start designing you may have 5-6 objects you want to select without the vehicle outline. In flexi I would lock the vehicle outline and drag over to select all objects in one go leaving the vehicle outline as it is locked, are you saying yu would have to select each of th 5-6 objects with shift select or am I missing the point

what I do is group the van outlines one at a time (left, right, side etc)

then Arrange Lock Object, then when you select objects and you select the outline you only need to shift left click to deselect it.

    any help 😕

Helps but this is strange mate if you create a shape and give it a fine outline for a few objects it can be hard to select the thin outline and you have a few it would make more sense to be able to lock objects so you cant move them, this is standard in flexisign and corel ??
May be there is a way
    thanks rich

    Hi Rich,

use the GROUP function (CTRL G) to ‘lock’ the outline together. Then you can just ‘elastic band’ / grab / select the other objects without the ‘locked / grouped object…so long as you do not select the ENTIRE grouped set of items.

Group is used to ‘lock’ selected items together.

For the selection being a bit ‘off’ / too wide. – It’s part of the selection tools – you can chose the ‘select fill / select edge and also the grab width – say 1-3 pixels.

I personally set mine to object edge & 1 pixel.

try looking at the way you can tell SL how to select objects, but yes it could be better 😕

SL is a good program but the way it does some things is very strange

and it really struggles with bitmaps, very slow.
