    Hi,
Now that I’ve introduced myself, I thought that (for my 1st. proper post) I should at least show that I can actually do a bit of signwriting…so I am posting a few pics of this LMS railway carriage restoration project that I just finished yesterday.
"What is a ‘London-Midland & Scottish Railway Company’ carriage doing in Northern Ireland???" I hear you ask; well…after the Luftwaffe bombed Belfast on Easter Tuesday 1941, there was a deficit in rolling stock and, in order to help out, LMS promptly responded by shipping over this particular carriage, which has remained here ever since.
All lettering is done freehand with 1-Shot.

The gold lines were taped with 3/4" masking tape, which left just about the right space to pencil in the black with a No. 8.
BTW. I just worked out that there is 912′ of lining on these things.

…and while we’re on the subject, this is a 1950s LMS Dining Car which I lettered last year…slightly different proportions…

sorry I missed this thread, but David Kynaston also did some railway carriages recently, and I thought this was the same thread, so did not open it.

Nice shading! How do you choose to blend the shade? I tend to stipple the blend. there are many variations!

    You spelt Dinning rong! 😉
