I got that as well John.. I believe they were part of the management team who left Universals and set up on thier own, (not 100% sure)
I had a letter from universal a while back saying they were taking them to court to stop them using universals client lists..

sorry for supposedly “spamming” the sign boards but as a full gold member of UK signboards what is the problem with replying to a question!!!! if somebody was looking for plastic we’d point them in the direction of amari or irpen, if somebody was after poster frames then we’d point them in the direction of insight or ashby! when someone asks for a lightbox we feel it only fair we offer our services!? if this is a breach of your supposed “rules” then what is the point of us being a member at all if everytime we try 2 help a fellow member we’re going to get a slapped wrist (chat.)

Perhaps we shuld have a suppliers forum with the each supplier paying an anual subscription and the posts don’t show up on the latest posts window.

That way if you don’t want to take part you don’t have to.

It would make finding hard to come by products and sevices easier and bring in revenue for the site without offending other users.

You could always pm them your details. This keeps the boards free from ads which would otherwise be like them ruddy mailshots we receive every day. Every board would be loaded with ads and that is not what they are for. This is a great site for like minded people helping each other out where we can. If you get edited by the board, just think: No Wucking Furries 😀

I think you will find that suppliers canot pm,
Reading the rules you will also see that suppliers cannot blow their own trumpet, and can only be recomended by others, It makes sense to me.
Suppliers can be biased!

thank you for your views, but like i told you on the phone in length some months ago. it is not allowed. gold access means you get access to demos and the like, but not a lifetime of free advertising on the site.
you are not a uksg member and cannot be due to being a supplier. UKSB evolved from UKSG and the group comes first in all accounts. i am sorry if that is not acceptable but that is how it is here.
there is about 50 UK suppliers and many more around the world that use these boards daily. god, i get so much spam from china alone its unreal. 😕 now lets say we never moderated these boards and anyone could recommend themselves. we would have so much crap on here. arguments would start when suppliers trying to go in against suppliers on the boards. look at your reply for instance… you come in saying one thing, next reply was a supplier saying they are the best in uk! its not on and will never change. that’s what makes this site different from any site i know. if you or are any other supplier has good products our members will sing your praises anyway…

Totally agree Robert,

As I see it these boards are a source of practical information, I would hate to see threads from company’s advertising their products and services, IMHO that would ruin what is a great site.

I have e-mailed you on this subject many times Robert, but as yet had no reply, I do understand you are very busy but would really like to talk with you about the subject sometime. Apologies for hijacking the thread 😛

Back to the original topic I would also recommend Northern Sign Cases.

Yep it makes sense to me too ….. we get tons of literature through the post offering this that and everything and to be honest the suppliers we usually go with, we use after recommendations from peeps here. If a suppliers products are good we will hear about it from other members. I always recommend anyone I have recieved good products and good service from as do most peeps.
