Would using glass etch film ever be an option?
Oracal has a gold one and it’s very light.
Also semi-transparent, so that might be a problem.
Unless it’s going on a window or on white background.

as i am trying to match existing stuff. have now realized that the gold was painted using a mask then lacquer applied.

i will give cherwell a ring tomorrow, but a quick question is the 1 shot metallic gold a lighter shade, and its going on to black base car paint will i need a undercoat for the gold.

Chris, the 1 Shot gold is a real PITA.
You have to stir it constantly, it is thin and runny, and will possibly need two coats.
See if you can find Ronan Aqua Leaf (probably not)
http://www.dixieart.com/FineArts/Ronan_Paint.htm (you have to scroll down)
    or Kemp’s Permagild.

(the best gold paint I have ever tried but very hard to find)
See if there is another brand of lettering enamel readily available in the UK…is it Keep’s? Does Wright’s of Lymm make their own paint?
