Light box graphics help please
Hi All
I have to apply some graphics to a double sided light box, the background has to be dark blue block out with illuminated logo and lettering cut out of it.
All colours have to be colour matched so need to be printed and this is what has stumped me.
I am thinking of printing the logo and lettering with a lot of bleed on to a full sheet (to cover acrylic panel) and then apply a printed block out vinyl over the top with the logo and text area cut out.
Is this the right way? I can’t seem to find a block out printable vinyl for this, the ones I have seen say block out but to block out old graphics etc or background colour but does not state it’s light block out?
Any help appreciated.

Warren, sure ther must be a better way to do that job but unfortunately I don’t know what it is either :lol1:
Bit long winded but if you can’t find a printable blockout vinyl what about using 3 layers instead of 2 and having a normal blockout vinyl under the printed blue.

Id try Martins idea, Orcal do a block out in black used for blocking out lightboxes but you would need to buy a full roll as we dont keep it, what about lettering film used for going on reflective signs thats pretty opaque and then a grey backed digital grade on top to make it absolutely opaque.
check with a couple of A4 samples first i think.

is this possible?
A fret cut panel in place of the acrylic panel with a translucent print on to 3mm acrylic stuck behind the fret cut panel?
Not sure why my idea was any harder/longer than the other ways? 😕 I guess it must be my bushman logic :lol1:

Warren my first thought was a composite or similar panel which had the logo and text routered out and then the logo and text printed on to a backlit film and mounted on the inside but I thought that might be an expensive way to do it.
Think the way you had originally decided to do it was easier than the way I suggested and less time consuming but you said you couldn’t find a complete blockout printable vinyl
