I know that this digi print on a light box is not the biggest or boldest job on earth but our design and the finished effect is so striking, well I just couldn’t resist showing it. 😉

You’re right, it is a projector. We had this box in stock but the customer insisted on having the sign in ‘portrait’ rather than ‘landscape’. Customer says he’ll re-locate the feet so as long as he pays, I’m cool with that. 😀

Nice job mate ! Just wondered …. when you do one of these do you print on clear vinyl and fit on opal 050 acrylic or similar ? If so how do you find the colour density of the ink when it is backlit ?

Yeh same question a niknax, the anodised look is quite kool, I wanted some 200mm square light boxes with a d-light and they were to cost me £55! 🙁 Yeh I could get a 2000 x 750 for £244 with everything included!

I’m starting to feel like I’m on a different planet this morning ! (and I’ts nothing to to with anything I took yesterday 😉 )
Skeet – isn’t that just a bog standard projecting lightbox with a bog standard annodised ali finish or am I missing something ??

I don’t understand what your trying to get at here mate 😕 Are you saying that £55 is too dear for a small light box compared to a 2000x750mm one ? If so I would have to say it sounds about right to me, after all you’d have to spend nearly as long making a 200mm sq box ( more precision required too) as larger one and the d-light illumination I would guess would be more than a standard gear tray and tube design and the extra in materials would be a small percentage of the cost.
Am I barking up the wrong tree or just barking mad 😉 !!

Thats right, printed onto clear vinyl then laminate to opal acrylic. We would normally put out our prints at 360 x 360dpi but for a job like this we put out at 360 x 720 dpi which in effect puts down twice the ink and gives a much more solid colour.

As for the supplier of the box, Well we make those ourselves.

the box and feet look exactly like the ones we buy in. but we do make our own aswell. just the big ones though.
i agree with you nigel, to make one 2’x2′ takes the same time as one 3’x3′. same mitre cust, gear trays, bulb amounts etc etc just slightly bigger.
from memory we paid say £60 for a 2’x2′ lightbox. i called and asked for one 1’x2′ and it was £75. the reason is they have guys churning out bog standard projectors etc althogh smaller its not standard and takes longer so they charge you more for a one off. 🙄
