  • Leister Uniplan E Banner Welder – Any Tips?

We took delivery of our machine today that we ordered from sign UK, first impressions are that this is going to to take a bit more practice than i anticipated.
I’ve only had 1.2 hour with it so far at the end of the day, the lads at the show made it look so so easy and i made it look quite the opposite.
I wondered if anyone here has one and get share tips on settings etc….?

i have one and i know chris dowd has one too…

no, not the easiest to get the hang of mate… have you burned yourself yet? :lol1: i did just a month or so ago, still got the mark…

    settings?
best thing is to make your own for the banner material you use. then print a label and stick it onto the machine so anyone using knows the heat setting and the travel speed etc all banner makes/types have different settings so no point me telling you ours.

Yes, we have one too, all I can say is practice makes perfect Pryam, great bit of kit that we wouldn’t be without now, just gives that more professional finish to banners.

One of my new staff (been with us just 3 months) had it today, and within minutes she was running up a double sided 7 mtr banner no problem, she’s got another 32 smaller ones to do tomorrow.

We only use one type of banner material (Xerox) so never change our settings.

Just play around with some off-cuts you’ll soon get used to it (and yes, be careful how you pick it up when it’s hot) 😀

Best bit of advice that I can think of is to suspend the power cable from the ceiling so it doesn’t get in your way, we have a trailing extension lead hanging from the ceiling over the center of the bench and it works a treat!

I like the idea of the cable Chris.

Had a bit more practice with it this morning and i’m very confident now. Great bit of kit, blo*dy expensive though.
