    Hi All,

Is there a method to placing leds in a lightbox? or does it work via a certain calculation dependent on the brightness?? We have only ever used gear trays before so new to the led scene.

    Thank you! 🙂

It depends on what type of LEDs you use, we use some for backlighting trays with lettering taken out like this, sign is 120mm deep, LEDs are about 60mm apart, end result is a very bright sign.!!

Your LED supplier should be able to provide you with density guidelines.

It all depends on the distance between LED and face of sign.

Correct Russell. contact your supplier. However, it also depends on the module design – particularly lenses if they have them!

Module spacing not only effects overall light output but evenness of illumination. So not too many and not too few modules. Also keep an eye on the total light output because there are pretty strict guidelines on sign "brightness" within the planning laws. Over step the mark and your client may face complaints (which I am sure he will pass on to you) and maybe the sign will need modification – an expense you can do without.
