  • Leaning roller banner issue – why is it facing forward?

Posted by Nick Minnery on November 18, 2015 at 2:27 pm

Can anyone suggest a reason why this roller banner is leaning forward? I can’t remember where I got the cassettes from, but they certainly weren’t t cheapo ones,

Thanks in advance for any tips

    Nick

I’m guessing you’ve checked the pole at the back is properly seated?

That said, I’m sure you have.. I’ve noticed this on a number of the ones I’ve made, cheapo or posh!

    Hi Hugh

Yes mate, I made sure the pole was sat on the little plastic bit properly. I’m thinking that that spring in the cassette is too strong. It’s weird, this is the last of a batch I bought, I just seems to be this one that I’ve struggled with! :banghead:

Try turning the feet inwards about 30degrees. Have had same problem and I’m sure that helped.

Obviously not the root problem but may help on this occassion

Also check the pole in the rear is located correctly/fully into the hole, as if it’s not it can cause this issue.

Must be the feet are slightly bent surely?

Too much tension of the return spring?

Is the pole damaged or too weak? But normally it is as others have said the pole in not seated fully home in the hole. Sometimes it has to be wrinkled a bit.

I had exactly the same in one of a set of 3 that I made.
Traced it to a dent in the top layer where the rod first goes in.
The importer paid for the replacement.
And I have started getting the more solid pullup base.
They cost a bit more but its worth it.
