Don’t use illustrator Simon but can’t you add an outline, that’s what you really need to do if your cutting vinyl rather than printing. Far as I know the stroke is just the thickness of the line which as I say would work if printing.

    Hiya
In illustrator select your font with the desired stroke then go to object then path then outline stroke
You may need to convert the text to outlines first (so they are shapes nd youcant edit what it says)
Sorry hard to say when I’m on phone easier to explain when on the PC
Hopefully that shud be what ur after

Once you have added the stroke you need to create outlines then you need to go to path (I think) & create outline stroke, then go to your pathfinder and click merge. That will be done, if it won’t merge make sure the stroke colour is the same as the main colour.

    Hi Simon,

    You could also try following:

Select text and convert to outlines (make sure you have a backup of original in case you need to change text in future). Won’t work if you don’t convert to outlines.

Then object>path>offset path. Various options for square or rounded edges, size of out line etc. Ungroup if you need to.
