    Hi

Today when i was trialing some metamark wall tex i had a large amount of smoke bellowing from under the curing platform on a hp latex 360 wondering what would cause this?as i am using the supplied icc that the seller gave me and ive also downloaded the suggested profile from metamark with similar result but less smoke also i was told to turn down temp on both and try again but its still curling alot underneath the heaters and no smoke but leaving small wet patches on the print .. any help much appreciated [emoji106]

It’s water vapour, not smoke – happens on a few products with heavy ink coverage (and yes, water vapour will be seen as ‘smoke’ if you have optical fire sensor alarms!).

What are you opinions on the latex printers in thinking about switching from solvent?

Currently looking at HP latex machines as well. My old mimaki has served is well.

ive used uv printers in the past but nothing compares to the hp latex for me by far the better machine and print quality in my opinion is much better and maintenance is much easier

It’s water vapour that leaves behind a bit of an oily residue on whatever surface it condenses… Deadly if it is gloss floor tiles.
