  • Laser printing – which printer to use oki?? forever transfer

Hi. Im doing a fair amount of t shirt printing and i currently use hot flex vinyl which im very happy with and also buy in any logos which are solvent printed.

With the logos they do the job but football teams have said that they sweat a lot because of their rigidness and lack of breathing.

So it got me lokoing into other methods, one of which was sublimation which sounded great as it dyes into the garmet but only works on poly and you cant do dark garments. So the search has now brought me to laser printing using no weed (forever brand) paper. This sounds great as there is no weeding and believe its kinda direct to garment almost like screen printing. However i see there are issues when you need to do anything white unless you spend 3k on an oki with white toner.

So my question is whats it like using a standard laser printer with correct heat toners and using hot flex white??

So do everything on the garment white using hot flex and maybe even heat press the laser paper onto the white hot flex. Anyone tried this??

cant see the difference between that and the big numbers on there back or have i missed something

understand what you are trying to consider but the whole idea is that the transfer only picks up where there was toner i use a system from sun angle which is similar, you can use a clear toner and that will then pick up white backing same price a s white toner system.

because the backing transfer is white where toner is used it picks up the white backing so printing any colour other than white on a standard laser will go on to a dark shirt very well yes bright yellow on a blue or black shirt
never tried it on a poly subed shirt for that we use subli block and solvent print and cut which works well enough
