    For all the laser users out there this might be a dumb question but without asking for data sheets on the types of foam board, does anyone know the difference between PVC foam sheet and foam board? Are they the same or are they actually different foam as PVC is a no no for Co2 lasers.

    Has anyone laser cut this stuff before??

    Thanks in advance,

    Alex.

    Might be worth looking into foam x from alcan;

    Its a polyurethane core product – I’ve not tried cutting it on our equipment though so cant vouch for it.

    Cheers Andy,
    I’ve looked at the Kapa range of foams but didn’t get a data sheet with it and didn’t want to take the risk if it contained PVC.
    Polyurethane should be OK so i might go down that route, trouble is if the supplier gives me PVC foam board by mistake i want to know if they look or feel different to one another if you see what i mean so i know what I’m looking at.
    I’ll try and get sample of each to compare but just wanted to know if anyone had first hand experience with laser cutting this stuff.

    Cheers,
    Alex.
