I can tell you this , in terms of cold lams , cheap machines can cause more headaches than the savings. Lamination *can* be more complex than printing. We initially went with cheap and I ended up buying a 10k quid GMP machine and since then , I havent EVER had a failure.
I don’t suggest this level however , as my machine does a lot more than just cold lams , but I do suggest you go to whomever you want to buy a machine from and ask em to demonstrate it to you!!!!
Essentailly , it needs to be able to be operated by a relatively unskilled worker , and the co you buy from needs to be able to train that type person. Dont buy an unknown brand , buy a brand name that has plenty support!!! don’t worry about consumables , all machines should be able to use anything on the market. DO NOT buy a hot ad cold machine that uses the SAME rollers for both , it can take ages to heat and cool rollers and vinyl ccant be run thru a hot roller machine.
