    Hi guys
i’ve been experimenting laminating large vinyl prints, i currently us a cheap cold roll laminator. it has two large rollers, no uptake rool or laminate roll holder, you just have to hold the vinyl and laminate. . its tricky to use but ok for mounting vinyl or carbon wrap on to substrate.

I want to laminate solvent printed vinyl before mounting it however when i use this cheap roller i get little white cloudy patches in the laminate film. Some of these you can use a squeegee to make it look slightly better but the end results isn’t that professional. I was wondering if this problem is down to lack of tension on the laminate or not enough pressure from the rollers? i normaly wait 24hrs after i print the vinyl before laminating it.

my smaller hot laminator that holds the roll with tension will hot laminate paper prints perfectly, not sure if this down to the heat.

    any advice?

i have been looking at the easymount em 1200 and jet mounter drytac 44. if anyone could recommend one that would be great its just cold laminating I need but i was the results needs to be perfect and no cloudyness/silvering for want of a better word.

If you mean silvering then this will go normally by the next day.
A single heated roller will not give any silvering but costs a lot more.
