When printing banners via the versacam or other machine.

Does the banner have to be laminated after?

if not, how long would the image last for, before fading.

if so wouldn`t it make the banner a bit “stiff” or do you use special laminate material for banners.

Is there different laminates for vehicle rapping & flat application?

we dont laminate banners at all. nor do we laminate stickers/labels etc.. this is were i see solvent machines winning when it comes to “unlaminated” prints to eco-sol inks.
banners never really last more than a couple of years, they rarely get washed etc but do take a bit of wear and tear if they are taken down every day.
anyway, ide say the ink uv life should far outweigh the banner expected life.
ide guess liquid laminates would give it extra uv life but not against abrasion.

i think most of us are still playing guinea pig with cadet/versacmm etc so we will see on the long run who is selling pork pies 😉 :lol1:

i want to know also, lost a very good contract screenprinting onto window blinds 😀 anyway the new person doing the job prints on a flat bed digi printer!! 😛 the company insists you get a lifetime guarantee with the print 🙄 i am not convinced, as printing a solid screenprint….is guaranteed a life time!! 😀 and the technology for the digital printers is not…well done it’s time i would say!! 😀 i maybe wrong
