Laminating Issue
Posted by Dave Rich on May 23, 2012 at 11:02 amHi Guys…..I am laminating some MD7 roll to roll and sometimes it goes through lovely…other times it slowly starts to put a large ripple in the middle of the print before it goes through the actual rollers…any ideas please. i am a newbie to laminating so comments/help appreciated

To much pressure on the rollers.
Dont crank it up really tight, but enough to get some pressure on it, unless it’s heated you might experience a little silvering depending on the laminate.

Don’t know if thats the definitive answer but I’ve had that issue in the past it seems to resolve it, only trouble is you can’t release the pressure 1/2 way through a print, or you get a band across the image.

I don’t use a leader board, even when I have once laminating paper if the pressure is too much I get exactly the same problem.
It may be something completely different that causes it.

I would be inclined to check the tensions of both films.

Probably too much pressure. I had the same problems at first but since talking to and having a demo off an Easymount tech guy I’m pretty good at laminating now.
Make sure your laminate grippy tube bits (sorry dont knoe technical name) are tight so there’s plenty of tension there.
Any silvering goes after a while.
