What brand of T-shirts do you guys like to use for hen night & novelty T-shirts?

I would like to start offering my customers a selection of my own T-shirts instead of sending them away to Asda or Tesco’s to buy their own 🙁

As these type of garments only really get used once I want to offer them as cheap as possible, BUT also not sell them c**p!

I noticed when I was in Cyprus that quite a few of the T-shirt stores used Gildan & even my local indoor market T-shirt guy uses this brand, so I’m guessing they must be one to go for unless you guys know different?

    Hi Neil,
The problem is you can never stock all the sizes, colours, styles and quantities to satisfy everyone. I do exactly what you are doing now for hen/stag requests, I send them to asda, tesco, matalan or primark. The only time I order shirts in is for larger qty screen print jobs and Gildan are my choice too.

    Cheers John

I use Gildan, they cost £1.30 each for colours and about £1.10 at carton price, Thats for Gildan 2000 they are 100% cotton pre shrunk ultra heavyweight cotton. Gildan 5000 are cheaper and lighter weight but the 20p price difference really shows up in terms of quality.
I the same shirts for stag and hen nights as I do for my full price retail designs, I would rather print quality T shirts all the time than be inconsistent,, you can get up to £10 each for stag/hen T shirts anyway, sometimes they have to be cheaper due to customers, but I find it rare that people wont pay £10 for a T shirt for a special night.
Other than that I retail my own shirts in the shop for between £12 to £18 depending on the design, I apply volume discounts and everyone seems happy with it.
If its cheap it HAS to be, then go for Stedman, they are still decent quality just thinner and you can get them in fitted ladies which are better for hen nights.
I use the staple colours of black, white, pink and blue, then a smaller selection of about 6 or 7 core colours so not too many sitting on the shelf at once as Gildan do the 2000 range in 54 colours.

    I dont use Gildan 2000L
Just 2000, I never use fruit of the loom T shirts as they are associated with cheap and nasty.
Lots of my customers ask "you dont use that fruit of the loom crap do you"?
So my answer to that is no.

It definitely is the easy option John but I just feel that sometimes the customer seems a bit miffed that they now have to go & source the T-shirts that they came into buy off me 😕

Steve, the cost prices you are quoting seem really reasonable, who do you favor as a supplier?

I’ve only ever bought sublimation T-shirts from xpres, so I don’t know who are the main players in the garment industry.

i know fol are not the best, but if thats what the customer wants, who am i to argue, and if you want cheap… Gildan are replacing the 2000l with something but not sure what yet, for hen night shirts we tend to use fol because the go up to size 26 in the ladies ones, and some of these girls stretch a 26!
BTC seem to be one of the best

BTC for me all the way too.
cheaper than Pencarrie, Ralawise and UK leisurewear & Prestige, on most stuff.
Lots of people tend to prefer BTC, goo service, & when they make a mistake they correct it by the next morning with a pre 10am delivery for you.
    Cant fault them.

Never had anyone stretch a size 26 yet, but come summer Ill bet I will see it

I went earlier this year for the first time for a look around, really enjoyed it. Ended up with a Toyota embroidery machine……I hate good salesmen 🙄

Planning on going again this March to see if I can pick up a deal on a 540 versacamm & a look at this good beer tent 😉

Well do it in that order else youll end up with a versacamm, a laminator, 16 miles of vinyl and anything else they can sell a drunken man with a full wallet.

Are we talking BTC Activewear? Could someone give or PM me a link?

We’ve been using UKL, always found them to be reliable but cost reduction is always welcome 🙂

    Cheers
