Label Material needed
Posted by Daniel Evans on December 10, 2015 at 11:37 amHey guys
Just been asked to produce some labels, they’re for putting onto information rather than stapling business cards to.
What’s the best/cheapest material for this, price is an issue?
Thanks

Depending on the size and quantity we sometimes run them on pre-cut sheets through our small format digital machine, they’re available in a wide choice of sizes, and finishes.
If bigger we run them on the large format machine but on vinyl, Metamark’s MDP is 100micron so good for labels

Thanks David
The metalmark material is what I was going to go for, just wondered if there was anything else out there that was cheaper.
Clients a bit of a tight git

We use 100micron 5 year stuff it’s lovely stuff and comes in 750 wide. Costs us about £40 for 50m role from memory had brought a load for a job. Still have some roles. It’s solvent based with clear adhesive. Where are you based can send you sample of you like to test. Alternatively md5 100 is also good. The stuff I use is from Italy but can’t source it anymore ;(

Hi Michael
Thanks for the offer but this will be an ongoing thing so I need to know that I can source the same stuff again and again, they are quite particular but that is the kind of price i like lol.

I would go with md3 100 then

Depends on how large the labels are, I have great success with MD3 for all types of label. One customer puts them on the lids of her home-made preserves, and the labels wash time after time, and never fade either (Lightbar).
Why is it that paper for labels is more expensive than vinyl? It beats me!Lorraine

Lorraine I have wondered the very same but my mind got so confused like trying to work out how space carries on so I gave up thinking and just pay it 😉

Antalis gave us a very good price on Orajet 3164 gloss white perm, so may be worth ringing them.

We use a lot of Hexis V3000 for simple labels and contour cut stickers. Has great stability at 100 micron and at £45 for a 760mm x 45m roll it’s quite cheap.

grafityp do a self adhesive mat poster paper I have used for cheap labels (to seal florists wraps) no weeding either failing that the metalmark low energy vinyl that’s sticks like s**t is thick and works well
