Are you trying to make some for personal use or for mass production.

1)Personal use; buy a set for £2.99 from local car accessory shop.
2)For Mass Production, Go to 1) Above for dimensions.

    I hope that has helped.

you will require the legal fonts.
dimensions should be available from the dvlc. buying a set may get you once set of sizes but i would imagine you will need plate sizes for bikes, jeeps etc
i believe there is now a license to make road worthy plates. each and every plate produced should hold the registered number of the manufacturer.

i would advise you to maybe call Paul Morton at UK number plates. Paul’s been a member on uksb for a few years now and also advertises on the homepage.

grafytp also do the mangle type rollers and stock. you should be able to see that on their website.

Slight off track, but for anybody looking to get into Number Plates:

a)You’ll need to register with the DVLC,

b)Prior to doing that I would highly recommend that you contact Kenny at AutoXtra Ltd, You can get him on 0141 776 4848. He runs a company that not only supplies all the bits for number plates (Pre-cut Acrylic, Reflectives etc tec) but also supplies his own specialist software that is copyrighted for making them.

If you’re not interested in making plates yourself, you can get on an affiliate progam through his website http://www.autoxtra.co.uk

I known Kenny for Over 10 Years, good bloke to deal with.

Tell him Karl (Previous owner of Bargain Auto Spares, Glasgow) gave you the contact.

    I’ve made them a few years ago, I’m sure I made them about 7" x 7".

When I was designing them I rang my dad at Vosa and got him to check against one of the trucks that was in his work, 7" x 7" sticks in my head.
    Sorry can’t be more accurate.

    Cheers
