    Hi all, happy new year!!

I’m looking to ensure things go smoothly should I get ill, have an accident or be permanently incapacitated, this I believe is called “key man insurance”,

Also looking at life insurance, and possibly even a company provided private health care for staff .. Bupa, Spire, etc..

    Does anyone have any recommendations?

I have Key Man insurance – Should I be unable to work, my dad receives a handsome some to do as he pleases to ensure the company continues to operate. Cost is minimal.

My dad’s age increased the costs on his cover, and not to discredit him and his abilities, it’d be a struggle without him, it wasn’t really necessary.

We used a local IFA, I can send you his number if you wish to speak to him?

From memory he said there was little benefit of having private health care or similar. (again could be age related)

    Hi David,
That would be good if you could, thank you! Waiting for a call back from my accountant but no harm looking around!!

Only thinking of private healthcare as over the last few years I’ve had a number of fairly mundane private procedures, literally done within a couple of weeks start to finish, nhs was months waiting to even see the consultant and I’m thinking that if I was to be ill with something that hindered my ability to work I’d sooner get it dealt with quicker. Key man is all well and good but if I’m off for three months or more, there’s not much of a business left!
