    Guys.

I just wondered if anyone can help me out a little. We have been having some difficulties with our Jv-3 for a few weeks, originally the black stopped pulling through after a while, we needed to keep removing the cover and pulling a little through with a syringe to get it back, 2m later the same issue.

A technician came out to repair the work and replaced the capping station as well as lining up the head which he said wasn’t lining up, so the blacks been working for a week or so with no issues.

Now, it appears the yellow has exactly the same problem, it’s only printing half of the test print and changes colour through the prints, I have attached another image so you can see the same image and profile and the different colours its printing, as well as on the large image, its printing dark to start and then getting lighter?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks In advance

I expect the tech fitted new dampers? Could be the filter in the plastic headcap is blocked.

after doing experiments, I found that the new caps are not a very good seal. I refer to caps that are just slightly smaller then the old original ones and the metal plate is fixed in place. Without a seal then the ink doesn’t flow when pumping.

This could be different on your machine, you might had better luck then me.

If your pulling with a syringe and you are getting suction seal then ignore my comment above.

If you’re saying the yellow is changing colour, that would suggest you’re using a 6 colour SP or a JV3S, right? In that case, I would guess that the yellow is turning green where it’s being contaminated by the cyan. If so, I would suggest that the pump is running inefficiently and not clearing the cap out properly.

You say that the tech replaced the capping station and not just the individual cap. It does sound damper related if a colour’s not pulling through consistantly.

A picture of the test draw would be really useful at this stage.
