    Morning All

Can anyone offer any advice on this, no matter what size media I put into the machine it shows a consistent incorrect reading of 30 to 32mm below the actual media size.

This happens no matter what size media I put in the machine, 1370, 760, 610 etc

I’ve checked the sensor and it appears to be ok, sitting correctly ( I know there have been issues with these becoming dislodged and not sitting correctly)

I’ve tried it with lights on and off and also covering the machine so there is no shadowing but same results every time.

Any Mimaki boffins out there shed any light on this for me.

    Cheers

    Hi,

I am sure their is a "margin" in the setup so that it does not print right to the edge of the vinyl.

my machine prints 750 wide on 760 ( which it reads as 750 wide) material leaving me a 5mm margin either side.

    Morning John

Thanks for the prompt reply, everything appears ok regarding settings for margins etc checked all that.

Tried a couple of small test prints and they are set to print centre of media but actually print 30mm nearer the left side of media as you look at the front of the machine, off centre if that makes sense.

Someone suggested it shows printable area and not the actual media width, does that sound right?

but that would not explain why it prints off center though!!

there is a way of adjusting the margins in the hidden menu but I am not really a Mimaki man now, got rid of it and memory is faint. I do know it is a fiddly process

Actually might have not been in the hidden menu, maybe in the "material type" areas… cant remember.. faded

Dave’s right. It’s in the user type X setup, margins. They default to 0mm but you can set them to anywhere as low as -10mm. I would set them to -7 as that prints just shy of the media guide.
