  • JV3 Ink Cartridges use by dates

My JV3 informed me today that two of the cartridges are past their use by date (15 May 2008). It is still working but for how long? I still have at least 20% ink left in them.

    Can anybody help?

    Many Thanks

    Craig

to be honest I am now worried about giving any advise on the date issue. First post your firmware version (which appears when you switch it on). With the problems other people have had with major repairs I have to be cautious now about putting the date back.

I’ve had this to mate. If the firmware is 7.4 or above don’t turn the clock back. It can’t be reversed. You will end up having to have the board replaced. Check when you bought the carts and also if they have a Hybrid stamp on them. Some resellers have been buying their carts from abroad and not from Hybrid which is the reason for short expiry dates on the carts. I have a cupboard full of Ink carts that are nearly full which I can’t use and have been met with a total refusal for replacement.
You should get at least another couple of weeks out of your carts that have 20% left in them.
