I just wonder how you actually managed to fall asleep in a terminal.
You must have been tired!
One year my Scottish friend and I had just crossed the pond, supposed to land in Detroit, but there was a power grid failure across the eastern US so we were flown to Minneapolis without being allowed to deplane.
Once there, the airport was jammed with other stranded travelers and was fresh out of mats or cots. We tried sleeping back to back like soldiers. We tried curling up in the hard plastic chairs.
Ended up roaming the terminal all night till the airline counters opened up early in the morning and found the first flight back to Pittsburgh, where we had to sit beside an unkempt blonde who reeked of booze and garlic. Apparently she had been up all night as well.

As for security I got detained once in Canada for bringing in a case of beer. I also had my bag searched at B’ham the first time I went to Sign UK. And last year when I came back, via Detroit, I had the nerve to be wearing a Pittsburgh Penguins shirt in Red Wings territory, I had to go through one of those big Xrays where they can see everything God gave you.
